So on my usual trip to Columbus to get my kids I get 24.1 average MPG with the A/C on. Today was the first time it was nice enough to go without and I averaged 26.2 for the trip with no A/C and the windows up. 185 miles total round trip, 95% highway 75-85 MPH. It's rated at 30 highway but unless you never touch boost and stay at 60-65 you'll never see it. I have my kids for the weekend so all is right with the world.....

Windows down with no AC. Screw MPG, fall weather is the best.

I should have opened the sunroof and put the windows down before I had the kids in the back seat. I'm sure I'll roll back home that way sunday night.

Man, I have a sunroof for just spring and fall. Especially the evenings, love that cool air.

This is why you watch for these things called clouds.

As a stormchaser, I have been known to intentionally punch hail cores. Downpours are for sissies ;)

OF COURSE you have to watch for them. How else are you gonna get the instapool without a good supercell?

Interesting. Do you suppose this is another case of Ford overstating EPA ratings? So far looks like most people aren't getting much better either: http://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/escap…

I don't know to be honest with you. I could get 28-30 while carefully cruising at 60-65 mph but that's just not how I drive. My overall average is in the neighborhood of 22-23 which looks to be in line with most of the others on that site. I'm not sure what parameters are used for the EPA highway testing but it's clearly not real world driving where the speed limit is 65-75 and traffic moves at 75-85. Overall I'm really happy with the car in Titanium trim. It has a nice ride and really nice power but it gets quite thirsty when you order up boost.
